Bandits Hideouts Demolished By FCDA In Abuja Nigeria`s Capital City
Just as the saying goes, a child who
says his mother will not sleep also will not sleep. That is what has become of
bandits terrorizing the federal capital territory Abuja. In its effort to rid
the federal capital territory of bandits and other criminal elements, the
Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has pulled down trees and
shanties at a forest in Pasali On Kuje- Gwagwalada road.
This demolition was carried out on Wednesday 3rd
of August 2022 by the department of Developmental, Control, and Sanitation.
But the ongoing
demolition exercise began on August 3, 2022.

Ikharo Attah, the Senior Special Assistant on
Monitoring, Inspection, and Enforcement to the minister of FCT while speaking
after the exercise said the purpose of the demolition of Pasali forest near
Kije Local Education Authority Secretariat was to clear the area of
Illegalities and restore the approved masterplan.
"We have reclaimed the vegetable table market and others
which have been taken over by other people. The minister of FCT and the
commissioner of police are fully aware of the exercise, and we will continue to
reclaim the areas designated for special purposes," Attah said.
Attah explained that some of the structures had been marked
for long and adequate publicity was given to the general public.
"We have assessed the situation and noticed the general
public before now, this is why the exercise will continue," he added.
